Comments are a really great way to extend blog entries into cogent conversations about the featured topic. It's unfortunate that some people only see them as opportunities to contribute absolutely nothing but their rhetoric - no matter how unrelated that rhetoric may be to the topic.

Now I believe that Condoleezza Rice is an intelligent Black woman who knows that the unforgettable image of her shopping at Ferragamo during the horror of Hurricane Katrina would be quite difficult (if not impossible) to spin into a viable vice-presidential candidacy. My guess is that she also realizes that she's been an integral part of an 'administration' (using the term as loosely as humanly possible) that many people see as one of this country's worst ever - and want to see over and done with, um, like yesterday ... if not sooner.

It will be interesting to see what she does next. Something tells me there won't be room for her down in Paraguay ...

C'mon, Kenyon, I know you're smarter than this. The Republican Machine, you know, the guys that came up with the "Call me..." ads against Harold Ford Jr., want this to happen. They've been begging Rice to do this ever since Rip van McCain went over the top in the delegate count.
